Capacity-Building Workshop Commences for Several Employees of Central Office and Regional Zones

The Department of Staff Affairs of the ARCS, with the financial support of the ICRC, has launched a three-day capacity-building workshop aimed at enhancing understanding of the International Red Crescent and Red Cross Movement among several staff members from central office and regional zones. The opening session was held in the presence of Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salaam, Under-Secretary General for Operational Affairs.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Abdul Salaam highlighted the significance and objectives of the workshop, emphasizing that such initiatives are vital for enhancing staff professionalism and deepening their understanding of the Movement’s humanitarian objectives and activities. He also expressed gratitude to the ICRC for its financial support.
Following his remarks, Dr. Abdul Aleem Ahmadzai, Manager of the Capacity-Building Unit within the Department of Staff Affairs, underscored the responsibility of ARCS staff, both at the central and regional levels, to promote public awareness about the humanitarian mission of the International Red Crescent and Red Cross Movement across communities. He noted that increasing such awareness would contribute to expanding humanitarian activities.
Throughout the workshop, participants will receive in-depth briefings on the identity, history, emblem, and core activities of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.
