With coordination of the ARCS, the ICRC, and the WFP, the distribution of food and health assistance to 17,000 conflict-affected families has begun in Kamdesh and Barg-e-Matal districts of Nuristan Province.

On the first day of the effort, food assistance was distributed to 1,800 families in the Oor Maro and Kamu areas of Kamdesh district, which had been affected by recent fighting.

The assistance packages included flour, cooking oil, lentils, salt, and handwashing soap, aimed at meeting families’ basic needs and easing their hardships.

As the effort continues, similar assistance is expected to reach another 15,200 families in Kamdesh and Barg-e-Matal districts in the coming days.

It is worth noting that timely assistance and support for families affected by conflict and emergencies are among the key priorities of the ARCS.
