ARCS Leadership Holds Joint Iftar with International Partners

The ARCS hosted an iftar in Kabul last evening for its international partners, following Afghan traditions of hospitality, and held a joint gathering.
The gathering was attended by Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, General President of the ARCS; Vice President Hafiz Azizur Rahman; Under-Secretary Generals; heads of the central departments; advisors to the leadership; and representatives from international partners, including the ICRC, IFRC, the Qatar and Turkish Red Crescents, and the Danish and Norwegian Red Cross Societies.
During the gathering, Mr. Delawar commended the collaboration of ARCS partners over the past few years in responding to natural and man-made disasters. He said, “The support of international aid organizations has played an important role in assisting people in need.”
He added, “Afghanistan currently faces serious challenges, including natural disasters, poverty, and widespread humanitarian needs. The ARCS strives, in coordination with its international partners, to provide timely assistance to affected and vulnerable people across the country.”
Representatives from international partner organizations also praised the ARCS for its work. They stated, “The ARCS has stood by those in need, including vulnerable, female-headed, and disaster-affected families, during the country’s most difficult times.”
They emphasized that they will continue their humanitarian assistance and cooperation to ensure that timely and effective support reaches people during natural disasters and emergencies.
