Emergency Aid from Saudi Arabia to Nuristan Flood Victims: 500 Food Packages Handed Over to ARCS

Last Thursday, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center of Saudi Arabia handed over 500 packages of food assistance to the ARCS for the purpose of emergency assistance to families affected by the recent floods in Nuristan Province.

This aid was delivered in Kabul by Ustad Ali Mohammad Al-Hassan, the Deputy Head of the Saudi Embassy, to ARCS Vice President Hafiz Azizur Rahman, so that it could be distributed among the flood-affected families in Nuristan.

These aid packages include 50 kg of flour, 5 kg of rice, 5 kg of beans, 5.5 kg of sugar, and 5 liters of cooking oil for each family.

At the time of handing over the aid, Mr. Azizur Rahman stated that the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center has allocated a total of 1,000 food packages for the flood-affected families of Nuristan, of which 500 packages were handed over to the ARCS today, and the remaining 500 will also be handed over in the coming days.

He thanked the government and people of Saudi Arabia for their continued humanitarian cooperation and said that the aid will play an important role in fulfilling the urgent food needs of the flood-affected families of Nuristan.

The Deputy Head of the Saudi Embassy in Kabul, on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, expressed deep sympathy with the Afghan people over the recent floods in Nuristan. He prayed to Allah Almighty for forgiveness for the martyrs of the incident, swift recovery for the injured, and patience and endurance for the affected families, and emphasized that Saudi Arabia will continue its cooperation and support in fulfilling the humanitarian needs of the Afghan people.
