Treatment Program for Cleft Lip and Palate Patients Concludes in Kabul

KABUL, December 4th — The treatment and surgical program of patients suffering from cleft lip and palate, carried out by skilled Bangladeshi medical professionals at ARCS central hospital in Kabul, officially concluded during a ceremony held at Afghan Red Crescent Society central hospital, in the presence of Maulvi Abdul Latif Sabit, ARCS Deputy Secretary General for Operational Affairs.

During his remarks, Mr. Sabit conveyed the appreciation message of Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, the Acting President of ARCS, to the representatives of Bangladesh Markaz-ul-Islam Foundation for their humanitarian efforts, also expressed satisfaction with the successful treatment campaign and hoped for its continuation in future. Likewise Mr. Sabit assured the Bangladeshi team that in future they can rely on ARCS to provide health and humanitarian initiatives and assist Afghan population.
Speaking on behalf of the Markaz-ul-Islam Foundation, Hamza Shaheed-ul-Islam briefed on the progress of the program and achievements. He expressed gratitude to ARCS for facilitating their specialized doctors and providing necessary support for the treatment process. He revealed that 345 patients from various provinces were registered during the campaign, out of which 85 children underwent successful surgeries. He emphasized that this will not be their last mission, promising for the treatment of the remaining registered patients in the next phase soon.
