Nine Children Return Home After Successful Treatment in Germany for Severe Burns and Bone Infections

Monday, August 25, 2025

Nine Children, previously sent to Germany for treatment of severe burn injuries and osteomyelitis, have fully recovered and were reunited with their families under the auspices of the ARCS.
At the handover ceremony, Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salaam, Under-Secretary General for Operational Affairs of ARCS, expressed his deep satisfaction with the children’s recovery. He commended Peace Village International for its dedicated efforts and conveyed his hopes for the swift recovery of other children still undergoing treatment. He added, “For the past 36 years, ARCS, under a memorandum of understanding with Peace Village International, has twice annually facilitated the transfer of children suffering from severe burns and bone infections to Germany for treatment. To date, approximately 5,000 children in 91 groups have successfully completed treatment and returned to their families, and this initiative remains ongoing.”
It is noteworthy that doctors from Peace Village International will examine additional children at ARCS central headquarters from 26th to 31st August (4th to 9th Sunbula). Children whose conditions cannot be adequately treated in Afghanistan will be selected for advanced treatment in Germany.
