A five-day training workshop for seven first aid trainers has begun at the initiative of the Health Services Directorate of the ARCS and with financial support from the ICRC in Afghanistan, with the aim of providing professional and effective health assistance.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Dr. Abdullah Irfan, Director of Health Services, considered strengthening the capacity of trainers in the field of first aid important for improving the quality and effectiveness of the ARCS’s humanitarian services.

He said that upon completion of the workshop, the trainers will be able to share the knowledge and experience they have gained with other trainers and volunteers, which will ultimately further strengthen the capabilities of volunteers in the field of first aid.

Mr. Irfan called on the participants to make effective use of the training materials and share what they learn with others. He added that, with the support of partners, this capacity-building process will continue so that the preparedness of ARCS volunteers for a rapid and effective response during emergencies can be further strengthened.

During the five-day workshop, participants will receive the necessary theoretical and practical training on the effective delivery of first aid.

The ARCS continues to work on strengthening the professional capacities of trainers and volunteers in the field of first aid so that timely and effective first aid services can be provided during incidents and emergencies.
