The ARCS enrolled 50 vulnerable and repatriated women in vocational tailoring training who were affected by natural disasters, climate change, and migration in Shindand and Zendeh Jan districts of Herat Province.

The participants will receive six-month professional training in training centers and will be awarded certificates upon completion of the program.

Before the start of the training, the women’s household heads were provided with 300,000 AFN in financial assistance for purchasing tailoring tools and essential materials, with 6,000 AFN allocated for each woman.

This program is being implemented under the climate change project with financial support from the IFRC. Its aim is to enhance vocational skills, strengthen economic empowerment, and promote self-reliance among affected and returnee women.

Under the initiative, two tailoring training centers have been established in each district, equipped with essential facilities including tables, chairs, electric and manual sewing machines, and cutting tables.

The ARCS is working to create opportunities for employment, income generation, and self-reliance for vulnerable women through vocational training and livelihood programs.
