Under the direction of ARCS leadership, a special delegation, local staff and volunteers are actively delivering emergency humanitarian and healthcare services to thousands of returnees who arrived from Iran at the Islam Qala border crossing in Herat province.
Two ARCS mobile health teams are currently on-site and have provided healthcare services to hundreds of individuals. In addition, 4,000 newly repatriated returnees have received hot meals and clean drinking water.
It is noteworthy that this humanitarian effort is not only limited to Islam Qala. Similar relief operations are being carried out for returnees at the Omari camp in Torkham and the Anzhergai camp in Kandahar province.
