Three Land Cruiser vehicles from the IFRC and one from the Turkish Red Crescent were handed over to the ARCS, with a total value of USD 28,000.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, General President of the ARCS, expressed his appreciation to the IFRC and the Turkish Red Crescent for their assistance and cooperation.

He said the vehicles will be used in different parts of the country to serve communities and deliver humanitarian assistance to vulnerable families, particularly in remote areas that are difficult for ordinary vehicles to access.

Mr. Delawar described such assistance as valuable in ensuring the timely implementation of humanitarian activities and delivering aid to people in need.

Mr. Hossam Faysal, Head of the IFRC Delegation in Afghanistan, said that although the assistance is limited in scale, it will contribute to the delivery of humanitarian assistance to vulnerable and needy people. He praised the ARCS for its coordination and cooperation in delivering assistance to families in need and assured continued humanitarian support for returnee and vulnerable families.

Mr. Naeemullah Karimi, Head of the Turkish Red Crescent in Afghanistan, said that the donation of the vehicles is part of the ongoing cooperation between the Turkish Red Crescent and the ARCS.

He added that the Turkish Red Crescent has provided humanitarian assistance to vulnerable and needy people in coordination with the ARCS in recent years and also distributed assistance jointly with the organization last year.

Mr. Karimi said the Turkish Red Crescent plans to provide winter assistance to returnee families this year as well.
