Kabul: Four-Day Training Workshop Begins on the Fundamentals of Emergency Response Budgeting During Disasters

A four-day training workshop on the fundamentals of emergency response budgeting during disasters has begun at the central headquarters of the ARCS for a number of staff members from the Departments of Disaster Management, Volunteers, International Relations, and Staff Affairs, as well as the Planning Unit.

The workshop is being conducted with financial and technical support from the IFRC and was opened in the presence of Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salam, Under-Secretary General of Operational Affairs of the ARCS, and Mr. Hossam Faysal, Head of the IFRC Delegation in Afghanistan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salam highlighted the importance of the training program and urged participants to make full use of the information presented during the workshop.

He said that such training programs play an important role in ensuring an effective and timely response during disasters. He also thanked the IFRC for its financial and technical support in organizing the workshop.

In his remarks, the Head of the IFRC Delegation in Afghanistan emphasized the importance of preparedness, coordination among relevant institutions, timely mobilization of resources, and accountability in ensuring an effective response to disasters.

He also provided participants with important information on disaster preparedness, accountability, and learning from previous experiences.

During the four-day workshop, participants will receive training on disaster preparedness and the necessary response measures, the role and activities of the IFRC, the fundamentals of emergency response budgeting during disasters, experiences from previous disaster response operations, and how lessons learned from past experiences can be applied to future emergencies.

The ARCS strives to strengthen the capacity of its staff for effective disaster preparedness and response, improve the management of resources, and enhance accountability.
