Khost: AFN 3.5 Million Project Launched to Provide Employment for 90 Workers

The ARCS launched a cash-for-work project worth AFN 3.5 million in Ata Khil, Tayaki, Manzi, Sorotaki, and Ghaza Ghoundai villages of Zazi Maidan District in Khost Province.

Through the project, 90 vulnerable people will be employed for 30 days. Of these, eight will work as skilled laborers, while the remaining 82 will be employed as unskilled laborers.

The project includes the construction of a 300-meter-long water canal, construction of an eight-meter-long protective wall, and cleaning of a 1,500-meter-long irrigation canal.

Upon completion, the project will facilitate irrigation and improve access to water for agricultural land in the area, thereby contributing to improved livelihoods for local communities.

The project is implemented with financial support from the ICRC and aims is to provide economic support to vulnerable families through employment opportunities and improve local livelihoods by facilitating irrigation.
