Kabul: Cash Assistance Provided to 87 Vulnerable Families to Deter Begging

Sunday, August 24, 2025

ARCS has disbursed 413,000 Afghanis in financial aid to 87 families engaged in street begging at the Central Marastoon in Kabul province. The initiative is intended to alleviate economic hardships, reduce reliance on street begging in the future, and help families meet their basic needs.
At the distributing ceremony, Mawlawi Sayed Ahmad Bahramand, Director of the Central Marastoon, assured full equity and transparency in the process. He noted that ARCS is committed to supporting vulnerable people within its capacity, and that addressing their challenges remains a top priority.
Based on household size, some families received 5,000 AFN, others 4,000 AFN, and some 2,000 AFN.
Moving forward, these households will continue receiving their monthly cash assistance directly through bank accounts.
