The ARCS once again distributed 19.250 tons of food assistance to 250 vulnerable families, including female-headed households and those with disabled members, at its central Marastoon in Kabul.
The aid was provided with support of the Turkish Red Crescent to help alleviate the food needs of these families during the holy month of Ramadan.
The distribution ceremony was attended by Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, General President of the ARCS; Vice President Hafiz Azizur Rahman; Bilal Emrah Biral, Deputy Ambassador of Türkiye to Afghanistan; and Naeemullah Karimi, Head of the Turkish Red Crescent in Afghanistan.
At the event, Mr. Delawar expressed his gratitude for the humanitarian support from the Turkish Red Crescent, noting that Türkiye has long assisted vulnerable Afghans during times of hardship.
He added that ARCS, in coordination with its partners, continues to work to extend aid to other vulnerable and impoverished families across the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Biral highlighted that, in honor of Ramadan and in recognition of the strong ties between the two countries, Türkiye remains committed to supporting Afghan families in need. He emphasized that the Turkish government and people consider the challenges facing Afghans as their own and are working to expand humanitarian aid and cooperation in multiple sectors.
Mr. Karimi added, “The Turkish Red Crescent will continue its humanitarian support to the Afghan people and will collaborate with ARCS to reach even more vulnerable families in the future.”
Each family received a package containing 50 kg of flour, 10 liters of cooking oil, 10 kg of rice, 4 kg of beans, 2 kg of sugar, and 1 kg of dates.
