Paktika: Distribution of 4.2 Million AFN in Cash Assistance Begins for 400 Internally Displaced Families

The ARCS has begun the distribution of 4.2 million Afghanis in cash assistance to 400 internally displaced families in the Sarobi and Argon districts of Paktika Province.
During the distribution, Mawlawi Sayed Minhajuddin Hashimi, Head of the ARCS Southeast Zone, stated that the ARCS pays special attention to supporting families displaced by conflict. He added that the organization has so far provided nearly 150 million Afghanis in cash assistance to 10,700 families across the provinces of Paktika, Paktia, and Khost, while tents and household items have also been distributed to another 100 families.
Mawlawi Arifullah Hamid, Director of the ARCS Paktika Provincial Branch, said that 4.2 million AFN is being distributed today to 400 displaced families in the Sarobi and Argon districts with the support of the Danish Red Cross. Each family will receive 10,500 AFN.
He further noted that the ARCS has already provided 4.8 million Afghanis in cash assistance to 2,900 internally displaced families in Paktika. He also added that, in the near future, 500 families in the Barmal and Terwa districts will receive cash assistance, while tents will also be distributed to 100 families.
The ARCS considers supporting families affected and displaced by disasters and crises as part of its humanitarian responsibility and strives to meet their basic needs through emergency assistance.
