Kabul: Three-Day Media Monitoring Workshop Begins

The Information and Dissemination Department of the ARCS has launched a three-day training workshop on media monitoring and media mapping for communications staff from its regional offices, provincial branches, and central headquarters.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Hafiz Mohammad Qadeem Abrar, Spokesperson of the ARCS, highlighted the importance of strengthening media engagement and ensuring the accuracy, credibility, and timely dissemination of information. He emphasized that the humanitarian services of the ARCS and the needs of vulnerable communities should be communicated professionally and effectively to the public through the media.
Mawlawi Mohammad Yahya Rahimi, Manager of Publications, spoke about the importance of the media and its role in raising public awareness and strengthening communication. He encouraged participants to make the most of the workshop to further enhance their professional skills.
The workshop, organized with the financial and technical support of the ICRC, aims to familiarize participants with the principles and practical approaches to media monitoring; strengthen their capacity to systematically monitor and analyze news reports and social media content related to the ARCS; assess media coverage; and identify and classify national and international media outlets, as well as influential media organizations.
