The IFRC in Afghanistan has handed over 1,600 blankets, 200 tents, 200 kitchen sets, 400 tarpaulins, 400 water jerrycans, and one forklift to the ARCS.

The assistance was handed over at the central headquarters in Kabul by Mr. Hossam Faysal, Head of the IFRC Delegation in Afghanistan, to Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, General President of the ARCS.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr. Delawar expressed his appreciation to the IFRC for its continued humanitarian support. He said that the donated items would be distributed transparently to eligible families when needed, without any discrimination or distinction.

He added that the ARCS provides up to 10,000 hot meals and essential healthcare services every day to recently returned refugees at four temporary accommodation camps.

Mr. Delawar said that, due to the crises of the past, many women without guardians, children, and other vulnerable people across the country remain in need of humanitarian assistance. He added that millions of Afghans have returned to the country from neighboring countries over the past several years, many of whom continue to face shortages of shelter, food, healthcare, and other necessities. He called on international humanitarian organizations to further increase and expand their assistance to the ARCS.

The Head of the IFRC Delegation in Afghanistan said that the assistance was provided to help meet the immediate needs of people affected by emergencies and Afghans recently returning from neighboring countries and to improve their living conditions.

Mr. Faysal praised the humanitarian activities of the ARCS and said that the IFRC will continue its cooperation as a close and trusted partner of the ARCS. He added that efforts would continue to mobilize humanitarian assistance and ensure that support reaches families and individuals most in need.

The ARCS, in cooperation with its partners, strives to mobilize humanitarian assistance and help meet the basic needs of people affected by emergencies and Afghans returning to the country.
