The ARCS, through its Western Zone Marastoon Unit, provided transportation allowance to participants of vocational training programs in Herat Province.

A total of AFN 383,500 was distributed for transportation costs, including AFN 292,500 to trainees, AFN 83,200 to instructors, and AFN 7,800 to guards of the training centers.

In total, 150 female trainees received this support. Of these, 100 were funded by the Finnish Red Cross and 50 by the British Red Cross.

The participants had completed three months and fifteen days of training, and transportation allowance for the remaining 13 days was provided at a rate of AFN 150 per day.

The training programs included tailoring, traditional Afghan embroidery, confectionery production, plant-based product processing, and the packaging of dried fruits and saffron.

These vocational initiatives aim to strengthen participants’ economic resilience, create employment opportunities, and reduce reliance on ongoing aid, enabling them to build independent and sustainable livelihoods through small-scale businesses.
