The ARCS distributed AFN 1,014,000 in cash assistance to 78 families in the districts of Shindand and Zendah Jan of Herat Province as part of the second phase to strengthen small businesses.

Under this assistance, each family affected by natural disasters and climate change received AFN 13,000. These families had previously received the first installment of assistance, which enabled them to purchase essential tools and equipment for their businesses.

The supported families are engaged in a variety of vocational activities, including beekeeping, tailoring, embroidery, welding, electrical work, refrigerator and mobile phone repair, barbering, and other vocational skills.

The assistance was provided under the Climate Change Project with financial support from the IFRC. The initiative aims to promote small-business development, enhance income-generating opportunities, and improve their livelihoods.

Through its livelihood and economic support programs, the ARCS strives to support vulnerable households in achieving greater self-reliance, strengthening their income sources, and improving their living conditions.
