Kabul: Five-Day Free Cataract Surgery Program Launches at Central Hospital

Al-Basar International Foundation, in collaboration with the ARCS, and financially supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, has inaugurated a five-day program at the Central Hospital to provide treatment and cataract surgeries for patients with eye disorders.
During the opening ceremony, Sheikh Ul Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, President of the ARCS, described such programs as pivotal and impactful measures in the treatment of vulnerable and impoverished people. He noted that the program will benefit 400 patients in Kabul, offering checkups, medical treatment, surgeries, and corrective eyeglasses. He further added that a similar program will soon benefit 400 patients in Nangarhar and another 400 in Kandahar.
Further, he announced plans to establish a fully equipped hospital for treating patients suffering from congenital heart defects. He pledged to extend ARCS health services across the country.
Rizwan Ahmad Baloch, representative of Al-Basar International Foundation, stated that since 2023, the foundation has been actively engaged in treating eye patients across Afghanistan, in partnership with ARCS and supported by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, and strives to further expand these services.
