Danish Red Cross Collaborates with ARCS to Enhance Mental Health Services

Kabul, June 19, 2025

Acting General President of ARCS, Sheikh Ul Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar, and Vice President Hafiz Azizur Rahman welcomed Ms. Zara, Head of Mental Health Programs at the Danish Red Cross, to the ARCS headquarters in Kabul. The discussion focused on expanding efforts to support the treatment and care of psychiatric patients .

Mr. Delawar shared an overview of ARCS’s mental health programs across Kabul and seven regional zones, noting that the centers are staffed with healthcare, support, and sanitation personnel and also provide essential nutrition, clean water, and general welfare services to patients under care.

He also appealed for greater financial support to help improve and expand these vital services provided by ARCS.

The visit delegation commended ARCS’s humanitarian efforts , particularly its commitment to mental health. They pledged to support the training of healthcare personnel  and volunteers, encourage more partners to join the cause, and extend both financial and technical support.
