Balkh: AFN 3.87 Million Distributed to 224 Workers under Cash-for-Work Project

The ARCS distributed AFN 3.87 million to 224 skilled and unskilled workers in the Khairabad area of Dawlatabad District, Balkh Province, as payment for their work.
Under the project, each skilled worker received AFN 30,000, while each unskilled worker received AFN 15,000.
The project was implemented over a period of one month with financial support from the ICRC, providing employment opportunities for 224 workers.
The project included 740 meters of stone masonry, the cleaning of four kilometers of canals and streams, and the construction of a culvert. The project will provide irrigation water to around 16,000 jeribs of agricultural land.
The project aimed to provide employment opportunities for local residents, improve the condition of waterways, and facilitate irrigation for agricultural land.
