Supporting Refugees: Winter Clothing Distributed to 1,000 Repatriated Families in Kabul
Sunday, January 4, 2026
With financial support from the ICRC and technical support from the IFRC, the ARCS distributed winter clothing to 1,000 repatriated refugee families at its Central Marastoon in Kabul. The assistance was provided to families currently residing in various districts of Kabul province, aiming to protect them from the harsh effects of cold weather as winter approaches.
The distribution ceremony was attended by the General President of the ARCS, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Shahabuddin Delawar; Vice President Hafiz Azizur Rahman; heads of various departments from the central office; advisors; and officials from the North-West Central and South-East Zones.
During the ceremony, Mr. Delawar expressed his happiness over the return of refugees to the country, describing their return as vital to national development, stability, and prosperity. He emphasized that this assistance is neither the first nor the last provided to returning families, noting that the ARCS will continue its humanitarian efforts to address the needs of repatriated refugees and promote their self-reliance.
The assistance package provided to each family included winter clothing items for men, women, and children, such as jumpers, jackets, shoes, socks, shawls, blankets, and other essential supplies.
It is worth noting that, in line with its humanitarian plan, the ARCS has already delivered assistance to repatriated families in Ghazni and Logar provinces, and humanitarian support will be extended to other provinces in the near future.
