Kabul: Preparations Discussed for the ARCS Unified Plan for the Geneva Conference

The Under-Secretary General for Operational Affairs of the ARCS, Mawlawi Rohullah Abdul Salaam, met with a number of directors from the ARCS central headquarters and Ms. Mari Manrique, representative of the IFRC, to discuss preparations for the ARCS unified plan for the upcoming Geneva Conference.
The meeting discussed the development of the unified plan in line with the objectives of the ARCS strategic plan, the National Society Development Plan, community engagement and accountability, humanitarian diplomacy, and the gender policy, as well as the coordination of partners’ contributions and the completion of a joint operational framework.
Discussions also covered the coordination of contributions from the Turkish Red Crescent, Qatar Red Crescent, the Norwegian and Danish Red Cross societies, the ICRC, and the IFRC.
The participants emphasized that the ARCS’s priorities and the support provided by its partners should be coordinated through a unified plan to ensure the effective use of resources, avoid duplication of activities, and enhance the delivery of humanitarian services.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that technical meetings with the relevant partners would continue to finalize the unified plan for the upcoming Geneva Conference.
